Recently a client asked me when the best time of year was to buy land. Well, there are many different opinions on this topic. The thinking runs as follows:
Springtime is nice because first of all, the weather is warmer than in the winter. Also, the vegetation is starting to green and flowers pop and everything looks fresh. But the little bugs start to emerge and ticks love to find their hosts in the spring.
Summer is great when the weather is not too hot, but there are the nasty little insects and the even nastier poison ivy to contend. Autumn is always a nice time because the leaves are turning and the weather usually nice, but those insects are still around and the poison ivy is usually pretty hardy by that time if there hasn't been a hard frost yet.
But winter is probably the best time to get a good look at land because most of the vegetation is not hiding the ground and trees, the earth is frozen and hard and if there is no snow, is easy to walk. And those pesky insects and nasty poison ivy are not present in the cold months. Sans the snow, I would say winter is the best time to buy land.
